Your Montis Connection
You connect Intervals.icu to Montis once. That one connection is shared by the Montis App, the Montis hub, Montis Wellness, Claude, ChatGPT and any coaches you share with. This page explains how it renews, how to sign out, and how to reconnect.
One connection for everything
- You sign in on intervals.icu itself. Montis never sees your Intervals.icu password.
- Montis keeps one connection to your Intervals.icu account. Every app reads your data through it.
- Connecting again from a different app does not create a second connection. It refreshes the same one.
- Intervals.icu stays the source of truth. Montis reads your data from it and only writes when you ask.
What Montis can do in Intervals.icu
When you connect, Intervals.icu asks you to allow Montis to:
| Permission | What Montis uses it for |
|---|---|
| Read activities | Reports, activity analysis and the dashboard |
| Read settings | Your zones, thresholds and sport settings |
| Write wellness | Saving your Wellness check-in |
| Write calendar | Adding, moving or deleting planned workouts |
| Write library | Saving workouts to your workout library |
Montis only writes when you ask. In the Montis App, the AI Coach shows Confirm and Cancel before it changes your calendar. In Claude and ChatGPT, the report and analysis tools only read; just the calendar tools write.
It renews itself
- A connection you use keeps itself going. You don't need to reconnect every week.
- If you don't use Montis from Claude or ChatGPT for about two months, that app asks you to connect again.
- When Claude or ChatGPT needs a new sign-in, it shows its own connect prompt. Follow it and approve Intervals.icu again.
- The first time a new app connects to Montis, Montis shows a consent page. Approve it only if you started the connection.
Check your connection
In Claude or ChatGPT, ask:
check connection
Montis replies with the athlete it is connected to and your timezone. If it names the wrong athlete or says you're not connected, reconnect (see below).
Log out or disconnect
Open the hub at https://montis.icu/app (in the Montis App, press App Hub). The hub has two buttons. Both ask you to confirm first.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Log out | Ends your session in this browser only. Claude, ChatGPT, the Montis App on other devices and your coaches keep working. |
| Disconnect apps | Ends your browser session and removes your Intervals.icu connection from Montis. Claude, ChatGPT, the Montis App and your coaches lose access until you connect again. |
The App's Disconnect button only logs out. The red Disconnect button at the top of the Montis App signs out this device, the same as Log out in the hub. To end access for every app, use Disconnect apps in the hub.
Coaches: Disconnect apps pauses their access. When you connect again, they see your data again. To end sharing with a coach for good, use Stop sharing under Your coaches. See Coached Athlete Setup.
Reconnect
Use this when a report says you're not connected, or after Disconnect apps.
- Open the hub at https://montis.icu/app.
- If you're signed out, press Connect Intervals.
- Sign in on intervals.icu and approve Montis.
- In Claude or ChatGPT, start a new conversation and run
check connection.
If an app still fails, press Disconnect apps in the hub, then connect again from that app. Claude or ChatGPT then shows its own connect prompt. For app-specific steps, see Connection & Data Troubleshooting.
Withdraw access completely
Disconnect apps deletes Montis's copy of your connection. It does not change anything in Intervals.icu. To withdraw Montis's permission at the source as well, remove Montis from the authorised apps in your Intervals.icu account settings.
