Membership and AI Allowance
Montis is free to use with your own Gemini key. A Montis Subscriber or Subscriber Plus membership adds a monthly allowance on the shared Montis AI key, plus the coaching tools. This page explains the memberships, how the allowance works and how to check your status.

Join
- Sign in to Intervals.icu and note the email address on your account.
- Open Montis memberships on Buy Me a Coffee.
- Pick Subscriber or Subscriber Plus, monthly or yearly.
- Pay with the same email as your Intervals.icu account.
- Sign out of the Montis App and sign in again so it picks up your membership.
Use the same email. Montis finds your membership by your Intervals.icu email. If you paid with a different email, Montis can't see your membership. Contact me so I can link the two.
How the allowance works
- The allowance runs from your billing date to your next billing date, not by calendar month.
- Yearly members get a fresh allowance on the same day each month. In a shorter month it falls on the last day.
- If Montis has no billing date for you, the allowance follows the calendar month (UTC).
- Only shared-key AI use counts. Calls with your own Gemini key never use your allowance.
- When you work as one of your athletes, the AI use is charged to your allowance, not theirs.
Check your allowance
In the sidebar, the AI usage card shows Monthly Allocation, your tier and how much of this month's allowance you have used, as a %. The bar turns amber above 75% and red above 90%.
When the allowance is used up, the AI Coach shows a message with your usage so far and the date your allowance resets. Until then you can switch to your own Gemini key in Gemini AI Settings, or wait for the reset.
Check your status
- Montis App: your profile header and Athlete Details show Montis Subscriber Plus, Montis Subscriber or Montis Supporter. Free accounts see a Buy Me a Coffee link instead. Gemini AI Settings shows Active Montis Subscription or Active Montis Subscriber Plus.
- montis.icu hub: the account bar shows Subscriber Plus, Subscriber or Supporter, or Support Montis if you have no membership.
- ChatGPT and Claude: ask the Montis connector to check your connection status.
If your status looks wrong, check that your Buy Me a Coffee email matches your Intervals.icu email, then sign out and in again.
Cancelling or changing
- If you cancel or pause, you keep your membership until the end of the period you paid for. It doesn't stop on the day you cancel.
- After that date your account becomes a Supporter: the shared key stops and coaching tools need a new membership. Your own Gemini key keeps working.
- To change level or move between monthly and yearly, change your membership on Buy Me a Coffee. Montis picks up the change automatically.
- Renewals and cancellations are picked up automatically too, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Use the same email on Buy Me a Coffee as on your Intervals.icu account.
Terms
- Shared Montis AI key: the Gemini key Montis pays for. Only Subscribers and Subscriber Plus members can use it.
- Allowance: the most shared-key AI use your membership covers in one billing month.
- Own key: a Gemini key from your own Google account, free or PAYG. Google's terms and limits apply.
